Originating from the tropical regions of India, gymnema is a climbing plant with thick, shiny leaves which have been used in Ayurvedic medicine in India for around 2,000 years. In some countries it is known as the “sugar-destroying plant” since its leaves have the capacity to lower sugar levels in the blood.
