Originally from India, the mango tree is grown in all tropical areas, mainly for its fruit. The fruit’s yellow, fibrous flesh has a delicious flavour, while its stone contains an edible kernel that produces a very rich paste used to thicken sauces. A vegetable oil can also be produced by pressing the kernel. Mango oil is high in the fatty acid omega-9 and is used in cosmetics to protect the skin from dehydration, nourish and promote supple, comfortable skin.
