The power of plants
Acerola is the fruit of a shrub which grows naturally in the forests of South America. It is renowned for its antioxidant power, helping to combat premature cellular ageing in the body. This wild "cherry" was a precious source of food eaten by the Amazonian Indians to treat digestive problems and sailors on long journeys used to drink its juice to prevent scurvy. However, this beneficial fruit only began to be studied scientifically in the 1950s. Acerola is considered a superfruit thanks to its exceptional vitamin C content. In fact, this fruit provides 30 to 40 times more vitamin C than orange, helping to combat fatigue and stress, and boost immune defences.

Responsible sourcing
Our organic acerola is grown in Brazil, in the Bahia region. Harvesting is entrusted to a partner that is equally discerning when it comes to agricultural practices, thus creating an exemplary supply chain. Training programmes are organized all year long to improve how crops are grown and how resources are preserved while also limiting water use. Our Brazilian partner has nearly 30 years of experience in growing acerola. The goal is to continue to maintain strong relationships with local producers. At least three times a year, meetings take place with them to discuss issues related to quality, production and sustainable development.
